Mandate response to Tesco pay increase

Mandate notes the Company’s announcement this morning of a 2% cost of living pay increase backdated to April 2019. We also note for the first time in 4 years that this increase is to be applied to the pre-96 members albeit with some conditions.
Based on the fact that 75% of Union members working in Tesco endorsed your Tesco Pay and Benefits Claim 2019, it is our considered view that today’s pay increase does not go near satisfying that claim. It is Mandate’s intention to continue our campaign to achieve your legitimate and reasonable Pay and Benefits Claim.
We will now take some time to consider recent developments and to take soundings from you, our members, on these issues following which we will revert to Tesco with your considered views.
